2600 Meeting in Stockholm

Den här sidan finns även på svenska.

As the 2600 meeting outside Lava had died, we (Pao and elmindreda) have started a new one, hopefully one that is a bit more accessible.

Time and place

We meet on the first Friday of the month, on the second floor of Cityterminalen.

If If you see a group of geeks with laptops then it's probably us.

The meeting usually starts at 17:00 (5 PM) and ends at 19:00 (7 PM). People are free to come and go at any point during the meeting.

This meeting replaces the meeting outside Lava listed in the official 2600 meeting list.

The next meeting is on Friday the 7th of October at 17:00 (5 PM).

FAQ

What is 2600?

See also the article on 2600 on Wikipedia.

What do you do at the meetings?

Talk about technology, security (and the lack of it), society and other things. Fiddle with our laptops if we have them. Drink caffeinated beverages.

There are also generic guidelines for meetings.

Who is allowed to attend?

Everyone.

However, we ask that members of the media and law enforcement tell attendees about such affiliations, so that we're all on an equal footing.

You don't have to be an expert at anything to attend, but it helps if you're curious and want to explore and learn new things.

Can you pick a more accessible location?

We can try. If you contact us and tell us why our current location isn't accessible to you, we can try to find a location that is. Note, however, that it's really difficult to find locations in central Stockholm that fulfull all necessary criteria, so we can't guarantee anything.

However, we gladly accept suggestions for better locations.

What can I find there?

The kiosk Pressbyrån (with the magazine), several cafés, restaurants, various forms of free seating, a police station, surveillance cameras, expensive wireless networks, lots of people, unmanned Internet cafés, train tracks, Metro guards staring at you, pay phones and more!

What should I bring?

Yourself.

Other nice things to bring are creative ideas, wierd stories, hacker-related things (that you've made/found/modified) to show people, a laptop, food or money to buy some if you're hungry, ...

What shouldn't I bring?

Illegal stuff.

If you bring it anyway, leave it in your pocket/bag or on your disk.
